Background

I graduated from The University of Leicester in 2020, completing an MSc in Aerospace Engineering with an emphasis on aerospace materials. My master's dissertation focused on designing and modelling ceramic honeycomb thermal storage devices for use in solar thermal energy. This developed my interest in materials science and led to my decision to pursue a PhD.

Current Research

My current project, sponsored by Rolls Royce, focuses on the production of NbSi-based alloys and the application of oxidation-resistant coatings for use in gas turbine engines as turbine blades. The project aims to assess the efficacy of different powder metallurgy routes, namely FAST and HIP, to produce a NbSi-based substrate/coating materials system.
